Hi this is Elise McMahon for Expert Village.com and in this short video series we are going to be taking a look at dental care for your dog. If you would like to find out more about my services, you can visit my website at canineheadstart.com. So we just took a look at how to prep your dog for a dental exam and now we are actually going to do a dental exam on a dog. So we are going to use Ursa here. If she’ll just lay down for us. Get her all nice and relaxed. Go ahead, put your head down. So we are going to do a dental exam. I am going to take a look at the full indentions. The first thing I am going to do is take a look at her bite. Okay. You can see that she has small bottom jaw incisors. I am going to take a look at her canines, plus upper and bottom. I am going to take a look at all the teeth all the way back. I am going to move her gum back so I can take a look at all of her teeth. See how they are lined up when looking to see there are no cracked teeth. Okay. Go all the back and take a look at the carnassials. Good girl. What a good job. Good girl Ursa. This is something you want to do fairly regularly. You want to do it in a slow calm manner like we just showed you here so that your dog is not stressed out. One thing you don’t want to do is have your dog gladly snapping his jaws at you while you are trying to take a look at his teeth.
