About Japanese Green Tea
Hi, I'm Nelson Drago with Chado Tea Room in Los Angeles on behalf of Expert Village. In this clip we are going to be talking about Japanese green tea. Japanese green tea is much more grassier and I would say a little bit astringent than the Chinese green teas. Some of our famous Japanese green teas would be basic Sencha, Sencha Arihara and the finest grade Gyokuro. These are the mainly 3 common Japanese teas that we carry. Gyokuro being one of the finest green teas, what makes it finer is that it's picked once a year and it is picked of the higher elevation. The higher the elevation the better quality for the green tea and it only takes about 1 minute for steeping time, because the leaves are very delicate and very, very, very polite I could say. The basic Sencha is one of the famous green teas of Japan, which would be a little bit sweeter tasting but again a little bit astringent at the same time.
