Terrarium Maintenance & Cleaning Tips
Hi, my name is Wes on behalf of ExpertVillage.com and in this video segment I am going to show you how to maintain and clean your terrarium. If you want to know more about terrariums and carnivorous plants you can visit us at equilibriiocarnivorousplants.com. So in order to make sure that your terrarium appears clean and nice for display you want to make sure that you always maintain it and clean it thoroughly. You can do this on a regular basis and that will make your terrarium looking very nice. One of the easiest ways to clean your terrarium is by cleaning the water off the sides of the glass. This is extremely easy. All you really need to do is take a cloth or a piece of paper town and just wipe the glass down. Also you want to be careful of your plants inside of your terrarium because you don’t want to damage them as you are cleaning. Once you have done this you can have a nice and obstructive view of your plants inside. Another thing that can happen is that after many years of terrariums being in use is that water and mineral deposits can get deposited on the sides of the glass because the water has been there for too long. Now what you can do to get rid of those is by taking a razor blade and just scraping along the glass. This will get rid of any water spots or mineral deposits that you have. It is also a good way to get rid of any stubborn algae that is clinging to your glass. And after you have done that you can just wipe it down again with a paper towel. Another part of terrarium maintenance is making sure that your plants are well pruned. You want to do this to freshen up the plants and to also take the stress of the deadly leaves off of the plants. This is real easy to do. Just go inside of your terrarium and clip the dead leaves off as close to the base of the plant you can. Again to relieve the stress from the stem of the plant and to make your terrarium look as best as it possibly can. You want to prune back the plants as often as you can and just make sure that you are only cutting the dead part of the plant.
