Next I am going to talk about circuit racing. A circuit race is very similar to a criterium race but it is typically about 2 miles. It can be close to 3 but most circuit races are going to be about 2 miles. Basically you are doing the same thing. The difference with a circuit is a lot of circuit races you are going to see more of an incline or what we call rollers. A lot of circuits will have a roller up and down and the corners are typically not as fast although they can be. It's not an always or never thing but the main thing between a circuit and criterium is basically just the distance. Your criterium race is going to be about a mile and your circuit race is going to be closer to 2 and circuit races are timed as well. So you will go into the race knowing that you are going to race 30 minutes, 40 minutes or 50 minutes. You are going to stay in the pack, race it just like you would a criterium race, last lap get yourself in good positioning and spring to the finish.
