Competitive Cycling Teams

When you go to get your license on USA Cycling, you are going to be asked if you are on a team. So what right now I am going to go ahead and talk to you about actually finding a team and riding with a team. Let me start out by saying you do not need to be on a team to race in competitive cycling. You can sign up with USA Cycling and say you do not have a team and at most racers as a beginner, you will not pay what is called an unattached fee. That is where a rider does not have a team and the fee is typically $5 but as a beginner, they usually waive that fee but if you are interested in actually getting on a team which is actually a lot of fun, you can go on USA Cycling and they will have a link to look up teams and you could find a team in your area. You could contact them and let them know your experience, what you are interested in and see if it is a fit; see if they would like you to join their team. I myself really have enjoyed riding with a team and I think that it is a great step to take if you are going to get into competitive cycling.
