Hello my name is James Colonna from Cherry Hills Studios on behalf of Expert Village. In this next clip we're going to talk about 4 over 3 polyrythms utilizing motion. Four over 3 polyrhytms is playing a 4 in one hand and 3 in the other hand with 3 on the other hand over the course of the same beat. I'll play the 4 in my right hand and I'll play the 3 on my left hand, I'm also going to move my right hand in a group of 3 while playing in a 4 field and I will move my left hand in a group of 2 while playing in the 3 field. (drumming) That was an example of the 4 over 3 polyrhythm utilizing motions.
This is more of a demo rather than a lesson. Break it down and give a strategy for learning and counting this. Show how it is useful. Do you apply it to the drum kit? If so how? You are a rudimental expert so how do you use this in your drumming?
