Hello my name is James Colonna from Cherry Hills Studios on behalf of Expert Village. In this next clip we're going to talk about 3 over 2 polyrhythm using accents. A 3 over 2 polyrhythm is 3 notes in 1 hand and 2 notes on the other hand, for this sake I'm going to play 3 notes on my right hand and 2 notes on my left hand, you just do this over and over again so the rhythm becomes dut duh da dut dut duh dat dut that's what it sounds like with both hands together. And what I'm going to do is I'm going to send with the 3 of my right hand I'm going to accent those as bucks, bucks are every other note accented so I'm going to be accenting in groups of 2 over a group of 3 and then on the left hand when I play the 2, I will then start accenting that in groups of 3 so basically I'm inverting it as far as playing the 3 accenting the 2, playing the 2 accenting the 3. (drumming) That was a demonstration of 3 over 2 polyrhythm utilizing that accent.
