How to Perform Fake Hair Pull in Stage Combat

Alright, so we've gone over punches, kicks, slaps, naps, safety, all that kind of stuff, now we're going to get into some more fun stuff and that's hair pulls. So in a stage combat fight if Audrey here was really pissing me off and I wanted to start pulling her, this is what you would really do. So and just like before where we established our distance just like before we made sure we had eye contact before we did the motion. Once we've done that, then we can go into the hair pull. Now, a real important thing about the hair pull is that I the attacker is never in control it's always the attackee which is Audrey in this case. So, what I'm going to do is I'm going to take my hand and I'm going to ball it up like this kind of an open fist where my fingers are curled in, my thumb is curled in and once I've established and made eye contact I'm going to take it and go over the top and make sure I have that close fist over the top and I'm going to lay it on top of her head. What happens then is this is where Audrey takes over, her hands go up on my hand or my forearm or whatever and now she becomes the actor in this. She starts acting, so Audrey is going to wiggle and move. I'm not in control this is all Audrey, she looks looks like she's in pain, I'm pulling her hair and she decides when it's over and she lets go and I've just pulled Audrey's hair. She was in control the whole time, I did not move a muscle, she did the whole control. That's very important to remember with because if the attacker does start using some control, you could hurt somebody, so always remember that and always remember to go slow at first and you work your way up. That's hair pulling.
