What to Do if You are Hepatitis C Positive

This is ExpertVillage.com and I’m going to tell you what to do when receiving your results back from your home hepatitis C test. Upon of receiving your results, you may be asked to complete a survey by Home Access. If your results are negative then you should smile and pat yourself on the back and make sure that you continue or at least try from that point on to abstain from risky behaviors and/or reduce your risk as to not further the spread of hepatitis C. if you are given a positive test results you need to contact your physician or your local health authority immediately where you should have a confirmatory test done in a lab setting. Additional counseling may need to be had in that case and your local health care provider should be able to refer you to a proper counselor to accommodate you, your situation and convenience. Also if you receive a positive result, it’s important that you contact all of your previous partners that you’ve had since your last hepatitis test and if you haven’t had a test before that would be every partner that you’ve had within your lifetime that you can. It’s important to disclose your status to them so that they can get tested as well so they aren’t out there spreading and not knowing.
