More Recipes for Soy Candle Making
For Expert Village.com, this is Matt Friedman, the owner of the Blue Creek Candle Company. In this clip we will be talking about today’s candle recipe. To find out more about my candles, please visit my website. Get a rough, get right in the center of your jar and if your fingers are long enough go ahead and smush that down in the jar. Make sure that it is nice and sticky for you. Now that is not going to go anywhere once our wax is melted and ready to be poured. This is pretty much the whole set up there. The other things that I am going to get ready are the dyes that I will be using. Today we will be making a sunflower scented candle. What we will be using is a sunflower scent which we have right here and the colors I like to use that is a golden yellow. I have got those two things ready to go. All we have to do is wait for the wax to melt. We will mix those in and we will be ready to pour and make our candle. We are going to take the temperature of our wax. I suggest doing is getting the fall of the thermometer somewhere in the middle of the amount of wax that you have the liquid wax that you have in your melting pot. Keep it in mind that the wax on the very bottom is hotter than the wax on the top so we are going to take a temperature somewhere in-between and that is what we will go with. Just want to set that in there and give it a minute or two to get an accurate reading. So my temperature is a little hot so to speed up the process what I like to do is just like clean up or cooling off our bowl of soup. Just go ahead and stir your wax around a bit that will relieve some of the heat that is trapped down in there and help cool the wax down and go ahead and check the temperature. Right now it is still running a little bit high about 165. I am just going to let this cool for about another minute and then I am going to go ahead and pour it.
