Pace & Patience in Indie Filmmaking

Hello, I’m Corey Turner here on behalf of Expert Village.com and today we are talking about low budget movie making. All right, it is production day. It is the first day of principal photography. You have done all of your preparations, you are ready to go and now you are on set ready to film. Don’t skimp on your scenes. It is easy to rush through and to think you have had it but try to shoot 2 or 3 shots of every scene. Make sure you get coverage. Make sure you get good performances. Really listen to what the actors are saying. Watch how their expressions are. Make sure you get the performances that you need. Also, watch how you are setting up your shots. If you are in a room which is the plain white wall behind you, that is not very exciting for the audience when they are watching but if you have nice scenery, good couches and paintings on the wall these are going to be visually appealing things that healthy actors will bring out there performances as well.
