Storing Camera Equipment: Tips for Indie Filmmaking

Hello, I’m Corey Turner here on behalf of Expert Village.com and today we are talking about low budget movie making. Here is something else to think about as you are getting all of your equipment together. It might seem kind of silly; however, you want to think about the cases, the bags and everything you are going to be storing your equipment in. Cameras cost a lot of money and all our equipment costs a lot of money so you want to make sure that it is taken care of and you make sure you have good bags to store them in. Also make sure you assign someone to take care all of the little tiny pieces; the little screws that connect your cameras to the jibs, tapes and everything else have good cases for those. Now don’t walk out there with a sack or super old duffle bag and I will tell you this that when you are on set those actors are looking at you as the director. You are the leader. You have it all together and they trust you to allow them to provide incredible performance. If you show up with trash bags hauling your equipment and everything is in disarray, then what kind of image are you giving them? Do the best you can and have everything together, look like you got it together that is one worry that you are not going to have to worry about with your actors. They are going to trust you because wow, look how good you took care of their equipment!
