Knowing What to Charge for Karaoke Services
Hi my name is Richard Buccola of Starlite Karaoke here in New York City and on behalf of Expert Village today we're going to show you how to start and run a successful karaoke business. I want to talk a little bit about how much you should charge here in New York City I know that there are some DJ's that will charge more for a wedding you know it's a wedding then charge less if just a party or something. I try to just to stick to the same principles that I feel like I get you know do what you do to get what your worth. Don't try to under bit somebody's show I know there's a lot of that going around with karaoke you know host your trying out to bit someone else's show on cheaper. Don't do that, that's a bad inadequate I charge anywhere from 50 to 100 dollars an hour depending on the venue. If it's a one time thing I try to get $100 an hour, if it's a steady weekly show I try to get 50 bucks an hour. There's other things that I take into consideration if I have to go upstairs, if there's parking involved, but get what your worth and don't over charge and be fair with people that's going to be a big thing. Honestly goes a far way in this business.
