Hi my name is Jerimae Yoder on behalf of Expert Village so once you got your promo kit together your really ready to start booking. Plan it out get a map out talk about where your at in the country and start to map out what state you like to go to or you think are going to be the best dates. Talk to other bands that done some regional touring or touring where you would like to go and hook up with them on myspace or unface book and places like that are band mixes are good one to get to know some other bands, bandmix.com. Get to know some of the other regional bands get to know some of the venues they played at start making some calls get your name out there start talking to promotions people at venues or booking people at venues and start mailing out some of your promo material. You want to start 3 to 4 months in advance before you want to do your tour so say you want to have the summer touring your going to need to start booking in January, February to be doing a summer tour in July or August or in June, July. You want to have that time frame so as far as booking goes you can get way ahead of the game and that's how the news work there way ahead of the game to. Start close to home you know start mapping out a few places close to home and try to get those open dates that you can close to home. Your going to have better luck if you start early again more dates are going to be open in the venues that your trying to book. Use venues that are close to your style rock, in rock bars things like that if your an acoustic artist solo artist like myself check out coffee houses, check out smaller venues, even small town have festivals throughout the year even fairs things like that. There looking for talent to book you in check those things out into small towns you'll be going to or where you want to go to.
