Mixing Colors for Window Murals
On behalf of expertvillage.com my name is Carolyn Travisano and I'm here to show you about window murals. Okay, so we're getting ready, I'm getting ready here to mix up the paints. I'm working at the Sedona Coffee Roasters in Sedona, Arizona and I already started the windows and I'm getting ready to put down their logo. So I'm going to mix the colors. They have 3 different colors going through their logo and I'm going to try and get the closest possible to those 3 colors but we're going to mix it up a little bit see if we can change it and make a little bit brighter. So normally what I do is I go out and get these little glade little Tupperware things and I can individually mix up colors and save them because I have multiple window to do so I want to make sure they don't dry out and they're sealed and air tight. So when I'm tinting and trying to create colors I use these little pigments, these little color things to add to either the white, dark brown or black. So I have my white and my black to tint and shade so I'm going to go ahead and start mixing. So we're going to mix up a couple shades of orange for the red rocks. Some of the burnt sienna, a little red rock color like a terra cotta and a little bit of yellow for brightness. So it just takes a couple of minutes to get the exact colors that you want. It's always nice to have a handy rag in your pocket. Okay so that's for one of the red rocks and we'll put that over to the side, put a lid on it.
