Tips for Sketching Mural Designs
On behalf of expertvillage.com my name is Carolyn Travisano here to tell you about window murals. At this point we basically go over the cost of pieces and how long it's going to take and the color pallet. Once we go through that we start doing sketches and we come up with some different ideas that they're looking forward to advertise or promote. So these are the sketches we came up with. These are the two front doors and then these will be the small six windows along the bottom and they're just basically rough ideas and I have the owner or the manager go over them and make sure it's exactly what they're looking for and of course everything is spelled right. Then the color pallet we kind of produce later as we go along. Okay with this sketch basically I have the logos, this is going to be the right window and the left window and their ideas they want to of course have their phone number, their address and their website, so you can go in and look at their menus. So we have the two logos and then we just put out some of the things that they sell here like the bagles, they have tea's here, smoothies, homemade pastries that Lori makes, lunch sandwiches, muffins, mocha, so on and they're just little drawings and sketches of each of those and then I have some coffee beans spread around for bean and coffee roasting establishment. And then for the smaller windows I just took a couple of the ideas from the original sketches from this first one and just blew them up. We have the homemade pastries, smoothies, sandwiches, breakfast and so on. Around the edging this is called tile work and these will be each in different colors in each individual square. Actually at this point too I'll go ahead and do any research to come up with photographs or ideas closes to what they show in the business here. I'll just reach across here and these are just a couple of examples. I go and do my research online and it just comes up with images of muffins so I can get a better idea of what they look like of course in shadowing and things like that.
