Handlebar Position Tips for BMX Bikes

The way that you position your handlebars will have a very drastic effect on the way your bike steers as well as the way that your weight is positioned over the bike. For me personally I tend to like to line my handlebars up with my fork so that they more or less on a parallel plane. Although I generally pull my bars back a little bit just to keep my weight off of the front end, this also slows down the steering a little bit so that my bike doesn't feel as twitchy at high speeds. Some people prefer to have there handlebars farther ahead which they often claim it gives them better pump when riding quarter pipes that type of thing. And I also know people who prefer to to bring there handlebars further back again it slows down on the steering on there bike and they really like that. Another issue with handlebars position that is often overlooked is the actual length of your stem this stem right here is pretty short about 45 millimeters and it gives more a responsive steering. A longer stem will actually slow down your steering and give you a little bit more room on the front end of your bike. Which can make a taller person feel a little bit more comfortable on a bike that feels to small for them. The actual angle of your handlebars also can affect the amount of room that you feel like you have on your bike and so you should really play around with it a lot and try to find a happy medium for you between proper steering and proper arm extension.
