How to Catch a Kick-Off or a Punt in Football
Hi this is Tim Gardener on ExpertVillage.com; we’re going to be going over some advanced techniques in football. Okay just like we talked about before, the three main things of catching a kick return or a punt return, keeping your eyes on the ball, staying up under the ball and locking it in. the ball is up, I’m under it, I squat, I got my elbows here I had a little bit of bounce, but I’m down here. It’s better for me to come all the way down here and make sure that I’ve caught the ball, then to stay up here and be ready to run and possibly miss it. so if I’m – it gives you a little more room to adjust if you squat down a little bit, maybe the ball is a little bit further here than you thought, a little further here than you thought or maybe you’ve got some bobble. But if you’re absorbing it, you can absorb all the changes of the ball, pull it in and you’re coming out of a crouch position ready to run.
