Hello my name is Donaill Dixon and on behalf of Expert Village I'm going to be talking about beginning basketball. Now I'm going to be talking about post play. When you're playing post play you're always going to make sure you're calling for the ball and if you're not open, always move around a lot, keep yourself as active around the board. When you're being active that's going to let your guard or shooting guard or small forward know that you're open. You've got to think about it, if you're playing post play, post players get the most easiest shots. They don't shot a lot of perimeter shots they shot nothing but shots mostly all in the perimeter and you know what I mean and pretty much the offense runs through the big guy. So when you hear him calling for their name you always want to make sure that your arms are out, you call up a position when you're open. If you're not open you go to another side of the court to get open. Now when you're in the lane, when you're a post player you can't be on a lane no more than 3 seconds because if you're on a lane 3 seconds that's a violation and you can never be on a lane 3 seconds. Now on a defensive side you can be on a lane for as much as you want to, but make sure that when you're playing post play and you're calling for the ball that you're not in the lane for 3 seconds. You always want to kind of keep your head, kind of count for the seconds as far as playing post play.
