How to Attach the Front Trim for Chest of Drawers
Hi this is Jon on behalf of Expert Village in this video clip we will attaching our front trim. We're going to start out by placing our long trim on the method that we're going to use is to run glue along our plywood side. We're going to put our long piece trim on, we're going to clamp it down and then we're going to pin nail it in place. So we can remove the clamps and let those pin nails hold it in place until the glue dries. First we're going to put glue, then we're going to place our board, next we're going to clamp, you want to make sure to leave a little bit of over hang this side so we can flush cut it off later. Then we put a few pin nails in just to hold it after that we remove the clamps. Next you can wipe off any of the access glue with a damp paper towel, after that continue with installation of the rest of your pieces. When you are installing the trim boards that are going to be going in between the drawers, a good tip to draw a center line on your trim board and a line on your cabinet that will show you where it goes. Go ahead and line those up then and this will make sure that your drawer is where you want it. To secure that middle trim board I'm going to take a backer block and go ahead and glue it and pin nail it to the back of it, this is going to hold the trim board to our outer face frame. Now that we have our front trim pieces on our chest of drawers is beginning to look a little more like a chest of drawers.
