What is Dantian in Qigong?

When learning Qigong exercise, one term called Dantian is often heard. What is Dantian? It is a location just below the navel; ancient Chinese considered it to be “the home of qi” because it is thought to be closely associated with intestines that govern absorption of nutrition. Dantian is often selected to be concentrated during Qigong meditation. In fact, there are other two locations of the body are also often used for concentration. One is the spot between the eyebrows, which is called “Upper Dantian”. Another spot is at the midway between the nipples, which is called “Middle Dantian”. By focusing on Dantian, one can easily and quickly fall into the quiescent state of the mind and relax the whole body.
