Who Can Practice Qigong?

Most forms of internal Qigong exercises are simple, safe, effective, and easy to learn without the need of equipments. Almost anyone can learn Qigong for general well-being or to prevent & treat certain illnesses. However, if someone has serious mental illnesses, it is advised to avoid quiescent Qigong that focuses on meditation. For those with physical imbalance of the body, avoid those forms requiring more active movements. When practicing Qigong, wear loose clothes, avoid full stomach, and exhausted physical conditions. It is best to find an open space with fresh air. Try to have the sun at the back if standing under the sun. For most forms of Qigong, be relaxed both mentally and physically, one may take a sigh before beginning the routine. Generally, the breathing should be deep, slow, even and natural through the nose.
