One issue that often comes up with multiple dogs in the same household is that one of the dogs are going to be the boss and the question could really become how do I know which dog is the boss. If you got multiple males and females you got a combination of males and females in the same house what one dog might be the boss of one situation the other dog would be the boss in another situation. Typically it said that the female are going to rule the house alright so right here we have one male and 2 females this female is a baby and this female is a adult in a tact adult. Really if I had to say who ruled the house I would have to say it was this little mini blond one over here. Why is that important? If it comes down between a male and a female we are not really going to get into issues competition typically sometimes it might happen but generally speaking if you are going to have multiple dogs you are going to have 2 dogs. Having a male and a female pair is a great combination there just simple are not going to get into the same kind of fights that you can get in between 2 females or between 2 males. If I know that she is going to be the boss and she has the alpha personality she is in the alpha role because of age then when I'm dealing with the 2 girls I can deal accordingly. So it will be for example very incorrect for me to feed here first to give here cookies first if the 2 girls are right there because I would be shifting the roles then between the 2 of them and I will be putting here in a position to be the leader then in fact that is her natural position is. So how do you know who is going to be the boss? Let's say you have a couple of females or a couple of males or even a male, female pair how do you determine who is the boss. Really the only way to do it is through observation and to see who goes out the door first, who controls access to resources which is really what being alpha is all about, who is controlling the bones, who is controlling the raw heights, who is controlling the toys. So through observation you can see and determine which dog in fact has more in stake or has more greater interests in being the leader of the other dogs and then when you are interacting with the dogs you would treat them accordingly.
