We're going to talk about combs and what are the different kinds of combs that you can use to work on your coated dog. I've got a couple examples of different combs here. This style of comb is called a grey hound comb. They've got different combs that they make with different distances between the tines here. This one actually has 2 different distances. You can see this is a wider gap then here. You can get them with all wide gap, wider than this, and you can get them fine. This is a fairly comfortable comb if you're going to be working on different spots of your dog. Again, very important to remember when you're using like many of the other different types of brushes that you would not just rip it through your dogs hair but you actually want to hold the hair as you're combing through it. Combs are great to work out little knots. The idea here is that we're working the knot out, that we're not ripping through the hair; that we're just working the knot out of the hair. This is a nice comb to work with. Again, it's a called a grey hound comb. We have another type of comb. This actually a plastic base comb with metal tines. If you can see here, the metal tines turn in the plastic base. I'm actually rotating these. I don't know how well that comes up, but you can rotate these.
