I'm going to talk about pin brushes now and show you a couple of examples of different pin brushes and how you would use them on a long coated breed. We have 3 different pin brushes here; different shapes and different sizes. This is a standard oval shape pin brush. This is a wooden handle lightweight pin. The bristles on this pin brush are not particularly long. You can actually get them longer about double the size. The pins are fairly flexible and they are in a cushion base. You can see how I'm being able to push these in so they're fairly comfortable on the dog. You don't want to use a pin brush that has a rounded ball tip on the end on a coated breed, because that can actually clatch the hair and pull it out. Sometimes people think that the rounded tip is a little bit more comfortable, but these you can try it on yourself. These are perfectly comfortable on your skin. Our skin is much more sensitive than dogs so this is a regular size pin brush. This is an oblong, so it's the same length. It's just a slightly different shape. Depending on your brushing style and where you're brushing. Sometimes this could be easier to get in like under armpits. Again, it's in a padded cushion base and the bristles are fairly flexible so fairly comfortable.
