We're going to start with slicker brushes. There’s many different kinds of slicker brushes. This is one type. It is German made. It's got red plastic handles, fairly light. This particular one has widely spaced bristles and they are fairly firmly set into a somewhat padded base right here. This is actually called the universal. It says right down here. Again, it's a German made slicker brush. We can use this brush to go through parts of the dog's hair. When you're using a brush like this it is fairly rough. You'll notice if you're using it on your dog and you wind up slicking your self that it's a tough brush. You don't want to just lay it down next to the dog skin and pull because you can see what happens here is it'll get stuck. Best way to use this brush is if you're using a section at a time here. I usually suggest holding the coat so that you're not pulling the dog's hair. This is again a German made light weight plastic slicker brush. It's fairly inexpensive. They hold up fairly well but again, the cost is not so prohibitive that if it falls apart...you can see this one is already losing a couple little bristles...that you can't go out and buy a new one. It's a good little tool, but it is a bit of a rough tool. Again, you want to be careful using it on the dog's skin. Always hold the coat. This should serve you well.
