So another thing you want to think about when your walking in the woods with your dog is again we we're talked about running into skunks and porcupines. There are other larger animals you might run into which maybe telling your dog to leave it isn't quit enough. You might have to tell your dog to come to you and those example 2 things I can think of that we have that are pretty common here in the eastern woods where we're walking today are bear and deer. So not a deer necessarily can do a lot of damage to your dog but it's possible that he could, and a bear certainly could. And so what you want to have in addition to a really good strong leave it command is that you want to make sure if your going to walking off leash in the woods with your dog. That you have a really good strong recall command for your dog. So if you need to get your dog back to you if they gone ahead on the trail you can get your dog back to you. Ursa come, good girl, good job, good puppy, good girl. So when they go ahead of you okay let's go, sometimes it good idea to play a games to where you call the back and reward them for coming back to you and then part of the reward you tell them lets go. And you can keep walking, one thing you can do especially with a young dog to teach them to keep on eye on you is to play hide and seek with your dog. So for example if my dog is ahead of me I would hide behind the tree and then call the dog. Puppy, puppy, puppy, puppy lets go, puppy, Ursa come, good girl, good job, okay let's go. So I give her a little treat reward and then we keep walking.
