How to Find a Place to Hike with Your Dog

So if you want to go for a walk in the woods with your dog, the first question is where can you find woods to go for a walk. Unless you happen to have some right outside your house, or you own a lot of property with woods, you’re going to have to actually do some searching to find some places that you can go with your dog. The internet is a great place to start, um, you want to look at local things, local state parks, you see if there’s any conservation areas around you, the important thing is going to be to find out what the regulations are for each place that you look at regarding dogs. Some places say, dogs are allowed, but they must be on leash, some people have requirements about what leash size has to be, but you want to make sure that you know in advance before you go into the woods, what are the requirements are so that you know that you are allowed to walk in there with your dog. Uh, you can ask neighbors, friends, good places to go on walks? You can also ask at your local kennel club to see whether or not there’s people that go for group walks with their dogs in woods. Sometimes people might go for a hike with a couple of different dogs, and that’s always a good way to start if you haven’t been with your dog before, because one it will give you a sense of how your dog does with a bunch of other dogs and your dog will also feel maybe a little bit more comfortable because he’ll be going with a group of other dogs for a walk.
