How to Play a Grace Note on a Flute

Now you'll notice the grace note is basically very quick and if you do it a little bit slower it sounds like a separate note. But it's just a little hop of the finger. You can do the hop of the finger in three different places. You can do it in front of the note or you can do it in the middle of the note or between notes which is basically the same thing and in that case the grace note stands in for a tonguing kind of. It enables the note to change a little more distinctively. So this is a little bit tricky, did you catch that? I was moving my finger for the next note of the same instant that I was doing the grace note. Once more. You can also put this grace note at the end of the note at the end of any note really and then it's the little hop of the finger that ends the note and it's also characteristic.
