One of the ways you can make the sound of your flute sweater is with vibrato. Vibrato is nothing more than the same thing that singers do when the pitch and the volume of their singing goes up and down a little bit even within the note, that's vibrato. It sounds like this on the flute. But the way you can practice it is to play long notes and just be very gentle with it and very slow and even exaggerate it like this. What you want to do as you practice that is keep the wave very even so there aren't any catches to it and keep it very gentle and even like that, like a sound wave pretty much. To practice this way involves muscles and it can involve a diaphragm, it can involve the throat, but basically the more free and easy your whole air stream is the easier you'll come up with a vibrato that sounds easy. So let's try it again the really long slow one. Let's try a different note. And that's basically to get your muscles used to how you're producing the sound.
