So as you're learning to improvise on the native flute, the next thing to look for is inspiration. Much of my inspiration comes from inside me. I just start playing and the note go wherever they go and something like this. You can also look in nature for inspiration, you can watch water, you can listen to water and play swirling water, you can play falling leaves, you can even play the line of mountain and hills as they go up and down. So whether your inspiration comes from inside or outside, what you want to do is listen to what you're playing and often where you are in that particular phrase will lead very naturally to the next thing, so in other words... When I just made that up I just basically started on one note and when to the next next. I can anticipate because I know the scale so well what the notes will be and then when we get to a certain plateau, the next note is obvious. It goes up, comes back down and that's basically just tuning in to inspiration either within you or from another place or even another dimension.
