How to Generalize No Jumping Dog Obedience

So another important thing when you are working with your dog is that you generalize you teach the dog one thing in one place and we need to generalize it to let them know that it means everybody in every place. So if we got a no jumping rule we need them to understand that no matter who is walking them or who they are approaching they can't jump on the people. So I'm going to show you one of the ways that you can work on this we are going to be using 3 people and 1 dog and we are just going to be doing a little bit of dog shifting. Come here Raven let's go so if she gets the idea no matter where she is or what she is doing she has to sit to say hi. Let's go, good girl. Raven sit, good girl, hi. Hi! How are you? Good. Do you want to say hi to my dog? Good girl. Alright so see you later let's go this way Raven. Raven sit, sit, come on you can't say hi if you don't sit, let's go. Come on Munchiken are you ready? How are you? Good. Do you want to say hi to my dog? Hi Raven how are can I have your paw? You just want to sit. I will give you a kiss okay good job Raven. Okay now we are going to swap and we are going to have Wes do the walking. Come on Raven come on girl, come on Raven. Raven sit. Good girl. Hi how are you? Good. How are you? Good. Can I say hi to your really cute dog. Sure. Hi sweetie how are you doing, very good, very polite, good girl, nice polite puppy with a beautiful little white streak okay. See you later. Bye! Come on Raven, come on, Raven sit, Raven, Raven sit, come on. So you want to work with a lot of different people and make sure your dog would work with the different people it is great exposure, it is great socialization for them and it is a great way to teach them that the rule is with everybody not just one or two people that you might be practicing with.
