So one method you can use to work with your dog and usually suggest for people who dog is just constantly like rabbits they are just constantly jumping, jumping, jumping. Raven is not in that mode today but we can still use her to demonstrate the method you would use to try and control your dog so that you can get some positive greeting experience and that you can reward. Alright come on so we got Raven on leach and we are going to go up and do a greeting and we are just going to assume that she actually does a lot of jumping. Come on Munchiken good girl. What I do I drop the leach on the ground and you step on it, you can see that I'm stepping on it about the length so if then she turns to jump on the person she wouldn't be actually to get up. Okay Wes you can say hi to her. Hey Raven, hey, hey Raven. So I'm stepping on the leach, I'm controlling keeping the dog in control position the dog could get reinforce we are talking to the person. But if she tried to jump up she wouldn't be actually to jump on the person. Good girl, good job. I want to show you one more thing that you can do and I'm actually going to let Wes have the dog. Come on. And what we doing is greeting and we are just going to assume that she jumps on you I'm going to show you what you would do if the dog to teach it not to jump. So if I walked up to the dog and Raven jumps on me I turn around and I walk away immediately. Okay. She stays, I walk up to her and she is standing still good girl, I give her a cookie for having all four on the floor and I can walk away again and I can do it again. Let's say she is a young puppy and she immediately starts jumping on me I give her a negative walk away again. This needs to be repeated frequently cause we want the dog to have the awareness and get the idea that all if I jump the person leaves if I don't jump the person comes up and gives me a cookie.
