So if we don't want the dog jumping on us as a greeting which would be there normal greeting with each other we need to teach them a alternative appropriate, exceptable form of greeting us. Really we don't care what the dog is doing as long as they are not jumping. The dog can be standing or they can be sitting, sitting is a little bit further away from the actually jumping then standing. So it is a good idea when you are starting to work with either a young dog, a puppy or a dog who is just learned to jump and have been reinforce for jumping is a good idea to start with a sit. So we first want to make sure that the dog understands what sit is I lost my little demo dog here come here puppy good girl.
