Trumpet Exercises to Increase Trumpet Playing Endurance
A good trumpet player must start developing the muscles necessary to have the right sound and endurance. It’s important to do a number of different things when you’re warming up to start developing the muscles in the face. One of the exercises you can use is called long tones. Play notes as long as you can, nice and sustained, nice and quiet, always working on keeping the pressure off of the upper lip. Another exercise you can do is lip slips. I tend to use those with all the 7 valve combinations, so the next one would be the second valve and the first valve. You can get a lot more complicated from there.
