Choosing an Eco Friendly Camera

Here's another easy thing that people can do too in order to reduce at the source. A good example is a disposable camera versus a regular digital camera. Disposable cameras they, sometimes we need them, unfortunately if we forget our regular camera. If we have a choice, we really should choose the digital one over this one. If you look at how much packaging there is involved with it. There's plastic, there's cardboard and then there's also plastic. It's a one use type piece. Plus you have to use plastics made out of petroleum, so you are using fuel. What does that do in a landfill? It doesn't do anything. That's the problem. It's as though most items that get into a landfill don't degrade. There's not enough sunlight, there's not enough air, there's not enough moisture. So it just sits there basically entuned. It's what happens. It's a one use thing. Plus a lot of times you have to make sure that obviously the place you're taking them is going to be recycling the plastic and the paper. Plus you don't get to view the pictures beforehand. That's what's so nice about the disposable, or excuse me the digital cameras now, is the fact that's it's so convenient. You can preview all of your pictures as you take them so you can delete the ones you don't want. Also, it saves on money. You don't have to buy the disposable camera, you don't have to buy a roll of film every time you wanna take pictures. So it really saves you money and in the long run when you are developing your pictures, so you can pick and choose which ones you want. So you don't have to get all of them developed at one time or duplicates of all of them. You can pretty much pick and choose which ones you want. So that really cuts down on the amount of waste in the production of the pictures and then also, you know, as far as what you end up throwing away if you are putting a scrapbook together or you know, just compiling the pictures. So definitely a good saver, I think, long term options.
