Storing Wine

I’m Terry Thomas. I’m here on ExpertVillage.com to bring you a little about the appreciation of wine. Now storing wine, there are many people and I say more people now are going and buying a wine they might have tonight or they’re going to have next week and few people keep a wine maybe over a year or whatever, but there are a lot of wines and especially bordo and cabernet and some shiraz that really are not ready when they are first released in the bottle. They are a little backward, they’re a little bit harsh, they’re a little bit tannic, a little astringent and they could stand for 5 years of aging and it’s almost a shame to drink them that soon. Of course most of them are, but that’s again people’s impatience and probably the supply of wine the restaurants get new wines and people order them right away and drink them.
