Hi everyone my name is Matt and I'm speaking to you on behalf of Expert Village. Now I'm going to explain to you exactly what a torrent is and how it works. Basically a torrent is a very small text file that you download through the internet, when you download a torrent your not actually downloading the files that you want to download your just downloading the little text file like I said. The torrent file basically just gives azureus all the information that it needs to know about the file or files that you want to download as you can see here there a lot of different files and is torrent that I'm downloading but the actual torrent size it self, even the files that I'm downloading are almost a gig the actual torrents are very small and size. One of the main advantage to this is if a band wants to release a entire album through the internet they don't have to have, they don't have to worry about band width, or storage or anything like. So I'm going to save this torrent to my desktop so you can see what it looks like. That's just a small little file it's 12.4 kilo bites I just saved it to my desktop and as you can see there's a little azureus logo like I said this is not the actual file or files that your going to be downloading. I'm going ahead and double click that and it's going to be automatically brought up and azureus, as you can see here down at the bottom I'm downloading the files and I'm going to check on some of the details of what I'm downloading, now the little torrent that I downloaded it's actually downloading about 15 different tracks and torrent files are libbed with a dot torrent, that's .torrent extension and that's how you know it's a torrent file.
