Hi I’m Chris Van Londen and on behalf of Expert Village I’ll be talking about hiking uphill. When you’re hiking up hills, you know go slow, don’t rush it. I’ve seen many people rush it and they get burned out, slow down, slow down – that’s the key. Slow down isn’t that why you’re out here is to slow down, to enjoy it. If you’re up in high elevation, it’s even more challenging and that it could be very hot, but your body also has to acclimate to the high altitude and so you’ll be perspiring more, your body will be working harder. Bring a stick or a hiking stick, very handy, you may not even need it all the time, but when you need it; you’ll be glad it’s there. Yes. When you’re walking on trails that have lots of little rocks and so some times it’s like walking on ball bearings that’s why you need a good stick, slow down. When you go up – slow down. When you’re on top – slow down. That’s the whole point of hiking is to slow down.
