What Foods are Best for Hiking & How Do You Pack Food for a Hike?

Hi I’m Chris Van Londen and on behalf of Expert Village I’ll be talking about bringing the right kind of food and packing it. now let’s talk about food, food is important on the trail, but don’t bring sandwiches, they get mushy, bring things that are easy to eat and that are going to stay firm. Things like walnuts, or things like nut, great food good energy food. Dried fruit is really nice too. You can take real fruit, I often do, I like to take oranges, things that will hold well. I don’t take apples or fruit like that because they get bruised and they just don’t do well on the trail. So if you take fruit, take fruit that does well on the trail that will store well that will hold up well. Well this is just a sampling, some times I’ll take bagels with cream cheese, that’s good food to take, I stay away from juices and I prefer to drink water on the trail.
