Ingredients for Kombucha Tea

In terms of sugar since it is a sweeten tea I imagine in ancient China they did not have refined sugar like we have here in the United States so a variety of sweeten products are possible to use. I personally use a lot of raw organic turbinado sugar and again the more organic ingredients you use the more those health benefits would be past on to you. Generally a cup of sugar is good or the batch that we would make, you can try other things like stevia or brown rice syrup. It is again not recommend to you use honey because of the naturally present yeast and honey that would effect the culture so. What about agava? Agava could be used yes. Do you have to add more because the glycemic is lower to composite or do you add the same amount. I will go with whatever the ratio of 1 cup to 1 cup is I will go by that. So whatever it says for the agava to sugar ratio I will go by that yeah that would be the best. But the sugar if your diabetic or concerned about how much sugar is present in the final product actually the sugar is consumed by the sugar and bacteria and they kind of belch out the good stuff and so a lot of the sugar is not past on in the final product. So if your concerned if your diabetic you might want to check with your doctor first but it tends to be not as effective I mean it won't be as influential. Harmful. It won't be as harmful. What do with the kombucha babies? My kombucha babies will I have a nursery where I so generally when I brew kombucha I keep 2 or 3 of the cultures in that vassal at a time. Just I feel that that gives it a better variety, a better there is a good balance of yeast and bacteria present with the more culture that use more then one batch. Because it is making a new culture with every batch I will leave the new one in and a couple of the older ones and once they start to turn brown on the bottom that is when you can tell that they are older and more mature and those I move into a nursery because I save them for everybody in kombucha camp. But there a lot of other uses for them people have talked about putting them in a blender with a little bit of kombucha and blended it to make a face cream that is kind of like a peel barbecue of the acidic nature of it. You will get a little bit of a peel effect out of it so you can use it as a face cream and it helps with a variety medicine purpose like if you have a cut or a wound of some sort and you put a little piece of the scobies on there with a bandage it, it would help keep it from getting effected as well help it heal faster. Other people have talked about drying out the scobies and then cutting them up and give them to there pets as chewing toys. So some people do feed there pets scobies.
