I'm Tony Newton for Expert Village and we are going to talk about the 12 tone chromatic scale. Now we have talked about the 7 notes of the scale then the octave. However, there are in between notes it doesn't exactly workout mathematically to 14 notes but it does workout to 12 notes so let's I'm going to play the 7 note scale with a chromatic tone. Now these chromatic tones offer a difference when playing when playing where you play the first like we where talking about playing the 4 chord, then the 1 chord, now these notes let's say we want to get to the 5 chord. So we can play a chromatic tone to get to the 5 chord, the 5 chord in this case is a G. So if we play a D chord with the F sharp in the bass we would get there. So if we play that is a way to get to the 5 chord using a chromatic tone other then that we go which is a different thing then this. It is a shortcut to the chord and it actually adds another harmony color. There is another.
