How to Play the 7 Scale Notes on the Piano
Hi I'm Tony Newton for Expert Village and we are going to talk about the 7 notes of the scale. Okay music consist of harmonies and melodies. Melodies come from scales and harmonies come from scales usually there is most of the time there is what we call 7 notes of the scale if we take it from middle C we are going. Now there is a magic key here that is the 8th note of the scale but that is same note as in the first note which is the octave so that is why we say 7 notes instead of 7 notes. Okay now each one of these scales has what we call a different think of music as color, color and sound so this C scale now there is different types of scales major, minor, fingering, there is different molds of the scales but what I want you to understand now is that each one of these scales has a different color in a different emotional content. That is from a C now if we play the same scale on the F it has a different color just like G does. Right and so each one of these now let's play another scale that would have each scale has different alterations like we say 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 so now lets play a minor scale which has a lower 3. Now we would play a minor scale that has a lower 3 and a 7. Now we would play one that has a 3,6, and 7. Now each one of those sounds different and has a different feeling.
