How to Harmonize on the Piano

Hi I'm Tony Newton for Expert Village and we are going to be talking about basic harmony. Okay harmony is a very brood, wide and deep feel of music but what we would do here today is try and touch on some basic techniques so that you understand exactly what harmony is. Harmony is not 1 part harmony means 2 or more notes playing simultaneously. Now if we where to take they are basically 3 chords that most songs probably of 10,000 songs has been written with and music in general use these 3 chords more then any of the chords of the 7 chords the 7 main chords. If we go if we take these chords are a harmonies like if you where in the keys like let's say the middle note and we form a chord we would talk about intervals and these chords are made up thirds so we have a C, E, and a G.
