Questions & AnswersDennis Garrels Expert Village There are numerous types of mutes in trombone and trumpet and brass line. There's a straight mute, the harmone mute, all kinds. This is the harmone mute and Miles Davis used one of these. He did a tune "Bye Bye Blackbird". Almost every one of his songs that I heard lately that he's done was with a mute. See if this sounds familiar.
