Hi I'm your teacher for today Dennis Garrels to teach trombone, representing Expert Village.com. We're going to talk about the trombone, this is a slide trombone. It's got seven positions. It's an instrument something not like a cello but it's in that same range as cello, bassoon, baritone sax, tenor sax. (The seven positions are 1,2,3,4,5,6, and 7.) Look out that you don’t go off the slide there at the end at 7. There's not alot of valving or tubing, as you can see it’s a straight brass instrument, therefore you get a wonderful tone from this because the air isn’t curling around alot of valving or tubing. It's pretty much straight away.
