Hi this is Aaron Fruitstone from Chi Martial Arts in Miami Shores. You can reach us on the web at www.chimartialarts.com. The next technique in advanced Tae Kwon Do will be a jumping downward punch. The purpose of this technique in sparring we award more points for the more complicated type of techniques, by jumping and striking your opponent in the head, you receive two points. So from this position, you’re going to be advancing your body forwards by jumping up, drawing your striking hand back – keeping your front hand up, you’re going to reach out to defend any attack that’s coming with your front hand, it will extend straight down and retract landing in your on guard position. Again, jump-reach out-draw your striking hand back-straight out and in-land. At normal speed. Again, we’re advancing towards our opponent to force them to cower away, by doing that they will expose themselves to the punch. And we’ll be back.
i thought that it was against the rules to punch to the face or head, i am starting taekwondo today :)
