Developing your Preschooler's Listening Skills

Hi this is Ann and we’re here today to talk about listening skills. This is an important skill that you need to develop with your child at home to have a more successful and happier year in school. One of the things that you can do for listening skills and developing them is to do read a story. And what you do is read the story, have your child listen to the story and ask questions. What happened in the story? What happened in the beginning of the story? What happened in the middle of the story and the end of the story? These are all important skills to learn and again with listening to a story that captures the attention of the child, it’s an easier time to emphasize the sequence of actions in a story and to develop those important listening skills for school. Again these are simple things you can do at home, any classics that you have at home will do or going to the library again to choose books that will excite your child would be great.
