Plank Exercise for Core Muscle Toning & Strength

The next exercise we’re going to do is called a plank. This time you’re going to come face down to the mat. Your forearms are going to come down on the mat, shoulder over elbow and go ahead and clasp those hands together, extending both legs out behind you as if you’re about to do a push-up. option 1, navel to your spine, you’re going to hang out here for about a minute – a minute and a half at a time, holding it here, make sure your hips are not lifted up to the ceiling and make sure you’re not arching your back. So your abdominals are engaged and you’re going to hold it here. Knees to the mat, relax. Option 2, coming into plank position, clasp the fingers together, come up into push-up and you’re going to lift your right leg, inhale and lower exhale. Left leg inhale and exhale. Very good.
