Basic Ingredients for Belgian Waffle Recipe
Hi! This is Karen for Expert Village. Now we are going to make Belgium waffles. Belgium waffles are distinguished by the waffle iron that they are cooked in. They are thick waffles with deep pockets to hold sauces and fruits. Just a little history; Belgium waffles were the hit of the 1964 New York World Fair. They were served pile high with whipped cream and strawberries. We are going to making a yeast leavened Belgium waffle recipe. What is nice about this recipe is you can prepare it the night before, store it in the refrigerator overnight and just stir it up and cook it the next morning. This recipe we will be using 2 cups of flour, 1/4 cup of sugar, 1/4 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 cup of butter or margarine, 2 teaspoons of yeast, 2 eggs, 1 1/2 cups of water plus another 1/4 cup of water, a 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla and 2 tablespoons of oil.
